Water and Climate Change at the Forefront of Discussion: Scientific Seminar at the College of Law Addresses Water Security Challenges and Adaptation Strategies

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Ninevah, Professor Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Zeina Ghanim Al-Obaidi, the University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Law organized a scientific seminar entitled:

“The Water Crisis in Light of Climate Change: Ways to Confront and Adapt to It”

The seminar brought together a distinguished group of academics and individuals interested in environmental issues.

During the event, Dr. Saad Abdulwahab and Dr. Maher Jumaa highlighted the major challenges facing water resources amid accelerating climate change and discussed their implications for the environment and water security. They also reviewed the primary causes of the water crisis and its environmental and economic consequences.

The seminar further emphasized the importance of rationalizing water consumption, adopting sustainable water resource management practices, and strengthening environmental awareness among community members. In addition, participants explored effective adaptation strategies to address climate-related challenges, thereby contributing to the protection of natural resources and ensuring their sustainability for future generations.

The seminar witnessed active engagement from attendees through insightful interventions and scientific discussions. Participants stressed the importance of continuing awareness-raising activities that promote environmental literacy and reinforce social responsibility toward contemporary environmental challenges.
