University of Ninevah Activates Its International Partnership with Indonesia’s UGM University

Under the direct follow-up of the Assistant President of the University of Ninevah for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Jaafar Ramadan Mohammed, and within the framework of the university’s strategy aimed at enhancing its international academic presence and expanding its partnerships with prestigious global universities, an online meeting was held today, Monday, 15/6/2026, between a delegation from the University of Ninevah headed by the Scientific Assistant and a delegation from Indonesia’s UGM University, to follow up on the implementation of the provisions of the scientific cooperation memorandum signed between the two universities.

The meeting comes as part of the ongoing efforts led by the Scientific Assistant to activate international agreements and transform them from memoranda of understanding into joint action programs that contribute to developing academic and research performance, enhancing the position of the University of Ninevah at both regional and international levels, in line with its vision of openness to leading global experiences and benefiting from internationally recognized best academic practices.

The meeting discussed mechanisms for implementing the cooperation memorandum and developing a roadmap for joint activities during the coming period, particularly in the fields of developing teaching staff capacities, organizing workshops and online training courses, exchanging expertise in quality assurance, academic accreditation, and global rankings, as well as strengthening scientific and research cooperation between researchers at both universities.

During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Jaafar Ramadan Mohammed emphasized that the University of Ninevah places great importance on building effective strategic partnerships with reputable international universities, noting that activating international cooperation represents one of the fundamental pillars for achieving the university’s goals in improving the quality of education and scientific research, enhancing opportunities for academic accreditation, and increasing visibility in international rankings.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their commitment to moving forward with the implementation of joint cooperation programs and expanding the fields of academic and scientific partnership in a way that achieves the strategic objectives of both universities, contributes to knowledge and expertise exchange, and builds sustainable academic relations that benefit teaching staff, researchers, and students at both institutions.
