Researcher Zainab Luay Abdullah from the University of Ninevah/College of Electronics Engineering/Department of Electronics Engineering defended her Master’s thesis on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, entitled:
“Simulation of Nanoparticles’ Effect on Solar Cell Conversion Efficiency”
The thesis examined organic solar cells and simulated the effect of adding nanoparticles on their performance using SCAPS-1D software, with the aim of enhancing light absorption and improving energy conversion efficiency.
The results demonstrated that optimizing the properties of the active layer and incorporating nanoparticles can contribute to improving the performance of organic solar cells and developing more efficient photovoltaic cells.
The examination committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Khalid Khalil Mohammed, Chair; Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed, Member; Asst. Prof. Dr. Omar Ibrahim Ahmed, Member; and Prof. Dr. Qais Thanoon Najm, Member and Supervisor.
Heartfelt congratulations to the researcher, with our best wishes for her continued success and achievement.
