Prof. Dr. Khalid Khalil Mohammed, Dean of the College of Electronics Engineering at the University of Ninevah, chaired the discussion committee for the Master’s thesis submitted by Marwa Adnan Asi, a student specializing in Electrical Engineering, entitled:
“Design and Optimal Enhancement of Solar Cells at High Temperatures for Harsh Environments,”
on Monday, 7 September 2026.
The thesis investigated the development of perovskite solar cells and the enhancement of their efficiency and stability at high temperatures. The study employed simulations using the SILVACO ATLAS software and examined the use of 3C-SiC and an intermediate graphene layer to enhance charge transport and thermal stability.
The results demonstrated the superior performance of the proposed solar cell incorporating a graphene layer, achieving a conversion efficiency of 30.32% at 400 K, along with improved charge transport and reduced recombination, thereby enhancing its potential for use in harsh environments.
