As part of efforts to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation between Ninevah University and the Northern Technical University, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Jalil Ibrahim, an academic staff member at Ninevah University, participated as a member of the examination committee for a technical master’s thesis in Electrical Engineering Technologies at the Technical Engineering College/Mosul.
The thesis, entitled:
“Energy Management Optimization of Distribution System Fed by Renewable Energy Resources”
was submitted by Mohammed Luay Mohammed Kamel and aimed to develop an optimal energy management methodology for distribution systems powered by solar energy and battery storage. The study seeks to reduce electricity costs and energy losses, minimize power drawn from the grid during peak hours, and improve overall system efficiency.
The study recommended expanding the use of energy storage systems and adopting time-of-use electricity tariffs, in addition to strengthening experimental validation of the models and simulations employed.
In addition to Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Jalil Ibrahim, the examination committee included Assist. Prof. Dr. Asif Abdul-Ilah Saleh as Chair, Assist. Prof. Dr. Alia Hamed Ali as a Member, Prof. Dr. Ali Nadhim Hamoudi as a Member and Supervisor, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Jadaan Ali as a Member and Supervisor.
This academic participation reflects the active presence of Ninevah University’s academic staff in academic forums and contributes to strengthening research cooperation and the exchange of expertise among Iraqi universities.
