As part of the ongoing scientific achievements at the College of Pharmacy, a fourth-year pharmacy student, Ameer Basim Younis, has successfully registered a new bacterial strain in the global gene bank (NCBI) under the supervision of Dr. Abeer Mansour Abdul-Rasool.
In this regard, the Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Maysar Al-Qutaji, congratulated both the student and his supervisor, praising this outstanding scientific accomplishment and reaffirming his continuous support for the college’s students to enhance their scientific and academic research endeavors.
On Thursday, December 5, 2024, the student presented a seminar titled:
“Antibiotic Resistance to Bacteria Isolated from Burn Patients in Mosul City.”
The study was conducted at the Burns Hospital in Nineveh Governorate, where a resistant bacterial strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa was isolated from samples taken from patients at the hospital.
May success and blessings follow, God willing.
