The College of Medicine at the University of Babylon hosted the defense of the PhD dissertation submitted by Raghad Fares Al-Khazraji, a staff member at the College of Medicine, University of Ninevah. The dissertation was awarded a grade of Excellent.
Her research was entitled:

Study the Diagnostic Value of Irisin, Ghrelin and Their Correlation with Troponin-I Among Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome in Babylon Governorate.

The dissertation was supervised by Prof. Emeritus Dr. Mufeed Jalil Awad (Clinical Biochemistry, College of Medicine, University of Babylon) as the first supervisor, and Prof. Dr. Hassan Salim Al-Jumaili (Internal Medicine, College of Medicine, University of Babylon) as the second supervisor.

The examination committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Zahraa Hamoudat (Clinical Biochemistry, College of Science, University of Mosul), and included as members Prof. Dr. Tareq Hussein Mughir (Inorganic Chemistry, College of Medicine, University of Babylon), Prof. Dr. Ali Jaber Abaoub (Internal Medicine, College of Medicine, University of Babylon), Asst. Prof. Dr. Heba Rashid Bahiya (Clinical Biochemistry, College of Medicine, University of Babylon), and Asst. Prof. Dr. Iman Hamid Hameedi (Clinical Biochemistry, College of Science, University of Babylon).

The study evaluated the diagnostic value of the biomarkers Irisin and Ghrelin and their relationship with Troponin-I in patients with acute coronary syndrome, contributing to the enhancement of medical diagnostic pathways and the advancement of research studies in this field.
