Academic Achievement Adds to the Record of Excellence of University of Ninevah’s College of Law: Fourth Place Nationally in the Jessup International Competition

In a new scholarly achievement reflecting the academic rigor and skills of the University of Ninevah’s students, and under the guidance of the University President, Professor Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, with the support of the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Zeina Ghanem Al-Obaidi, and supervision by a distinguished team of faculty members, the College of Law team secured a leading position in the International Moot Court Competition organized by the International Law Students Association (Jessup).

The University of Ninevah’s team achieved fourth place among Iraqi universities, following intense competition with several other institutions, ranking immediately after the team from the American University of Iraq – Sulaimani. This ranking pertains specifically to the writing of legal memorials for both prosecution and defense.

The team distinguished itself by preparing fully English-language legal documents that met the international academic standards of the competition. This accomplishment reflects the students’ proficiency in research, legal analysis, and professional drafting skills, as well as their ability to represent the University at global legal forums at a highly competitive level.

This achievement underscores the University of Ninevah’s commitment to supporting student talent, enhancing practical legal education, and engaging with international experiences, contributing to the preparation of a generation of legal professionals capable of addressing contemporary challenges and representing Iraq on the global academic stage.
