Ms. Jumana Younis Ahmed, an employee at the College of Electronics Engineering, has obtained a master’s degree after defending her thesis titled:
“Implementation of Selective Harmonic Elimination Pulse Width Modulation for Induction Motor Drive”
The defense took place on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Engineering Technical College/Mosul, part of the Northern Technical University.
The thesis addressed the use of intelligent techniques for harmonic elimination in the output waveform of single-phase and three-phase induction motor drives over a wide range of speed and constant torque.
The study concluded with the adoption of a hybrid approach combining methods (GA, ABC, ACO) to select the optimal firing angle values for harmonic elimination in the output waveform of the induction motor drive. Notably, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Harith Ahmed Mohammed, a faculty member at the College of Electronics Engineering, participated in the research.
The defense committee consisted of the following members:
1. Prof. Dr. Rakan Khalil Antar – Chair
2. Asst. Prof. Dr. Harith Ahmed Mohammed – Member
3. Asst. Prof. Ahmed Mohammed Tawfiq – Member
4. Asst. Prof. Dr. Laith Akram Mohammed – Member and Supervisor
Congratulations to the researcher and the defense committee. we wish continued success and progress to the university staff.
