In line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the supervision of the University President, Prof. Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, and the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Jaafar Ramadan Mohammed, the Deanship of the College of Electronic Engineering organized a specialized in-person workshop for postgraduate students (Master’s and PhD) in the research stage, entitled:
“Scientific Publishing Standards and Their Importance in Iraqi and International Journals.”
The workshop lectures were delivered by Assist. Prof. Dr. Aws Zuhair Al-Ashqar on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Al-Khwarizmi Hall in the College of Electronic Engineering.
The workshop highlighted the mechanisms of scientific publishing in reputable indexing databases, emphasized the importance of verifying the credibility of academic journals, and discussed how to select journals with strong academic reputations. These efforts aim to enhance the quality of research output and elevate the academic level of postgraduate students.
The workshop concluded with notable engagement from participating students, reflected in valuable scientific discussions that demonstrated their commitment to developing research skills and keeping pace with international standards in scientific publishing.
