In accordance with the directives of the President of the University of Ninevah, Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Mashhadani, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Radwan Hussein Ibrahim, and stemming from the University’s vision to promote the principles of integrity and transparency and in activation of the national strategy for combating corruption,
The College of Nursing organized a specialized two-day training course titled “Combating Administrative and Financial Corruption and Its Economic Impact” in the college’s main hall, with the participation of a number of staff members and both academic and administrative personnel.
The course lectures were delivered by Assistant Lecturer Ms. Watfa Diaa Yassin, a specialist in administrative law. Over the two days, she shed light on several important topics, including:
• The concept and types of administrative and financial corruption.
• Root causes of corruption in public institutions.
• The negative consequences of corruption on the national economy and sustainable development.
• Legal and administrative tools for combating corruption.
• Promoting transparency, oversight, and accountability within academic institutions.
The course was directly supervised by the Head of the Legal Division in the College, Mr. Legal Assistant Arkan Salem Akla, who emphasized the importance of institutional collaboration in combating corruption and the need to instill a culture of legal and regulatory awareness within the academic environment.
This course aimed to enhance institutional awareness of the importance of integrity as a fundamental pillar of administrative reform, develop early detection skills for identifying corruption, and promote good governance practices within university performance.
