The College of Pharmacy at the University of Ninevah organized an environmental awareness campaign on the occasion of International Earth Day, which falls on April 22, with the aim of raising public awareness about the dangers of environmental pollution and ways to reduce it.
First-year students participated in the campaign on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, under the supervision of Dr. Najat Saeed. The students’ participation involved distributing awareness flyers about various types of pollution, such as air and water pollution, explaining their causes and harmful effects on health and the environment. The campaign also included guidance on individual practices that contribute to environmental preservation, such as proper waste disposal, water conservation, and tree planting to expand green spaces.
It is worth noting that Earth Day is a global occasion that highlights the importance of protecting our planet and strengthening collective efforts to address environmental challenges such as climate change and plastic pollution. Educational institutions and organizations around the world celebrate it through awareness activities and sustainable initiatives.
