Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Mayser Mohammed Ali Al-Qutachi, and within the framework of the strategic directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research,
The Deanery of the College of Pharmacy announced on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, the completion of the implementation phases of the solar energy system installation project. This initiative is part of the college’s efforts to transition to clean energy and to support the operational requirements of educational and research laboratories.
Solar panels have been installed on the rooftop of the college building to provide an alternative and safe energy source for scientific laboratories, aligning with global trends to reduce dependence on traditional, polluting energy sources. In addition, the college corridors have been equipped with solar-powered lighting.
This project reflects the college’s commitment to adopting sustainable environmental standards aimed at reducing reliance on conventional electrical power. It also represents one of the core criteria in global university rankings focused on sustainability, such as the UI Green Metric Ranking, which emphasizes the use of renewable energy and sustainable resource management by universities.
