On Sunday, December 22, 2024, the Dean of the College of Information Technology at the University of Ninevah, Prof. Dr. Manar Younis Kashmola, chaired the committee for a Ph.D dissertation defense at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, University of Mosul.
The dissertation, presented by researcher Saadoun Hussein Abdullah, was titled:
“Developing a Secure Model for Internet of Things Services Using DNA Computing.”
The study focused on designing an innovative security framework consisting of four main phases: data collection, encryption, secure storage and synchronization, and cloud management. The research employed lightweight algorithms inspired by the principles of DNA computing to enhance security and reliability in Internet of Things (IoT) services through advanced encryption and authentication techniques.
The defense committee included:

• Assistant Prof. Dr. Sufyan Salem Mahmoud
• Assistant Prof. Dr. Mohammed Adel Kazem
The dissertation was supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sami Nouri, who also served as a member of the committee.
