The Dean of the College of Law at the University of Ninevah, Prof. Dr. Zeina Ghanem Al-Obaidi, participated in the proceedings of the international scientific conference organized by the College of Law at Uruk University, entitled
“Keeping Pace with Legal Developments in the Era of Scientific and Technological Progress (Artificial Intelligence)”,
held on October 18, 2025, with the participation of a distinguished group of researchers and specialists from various universities and countries.
During the conference, the Dean presented a scientific paper entitled:
“The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Protecting Intellectual Property Rights.”
In her paper, she shed light on the growing relationship between rapid technological advancement and the challenges of protecting creative and innovative rights, particularly with the evolution of artificial intelligence systems and their ability to generate content similar to original intellectual works.
Dr. Al-Obaidi addressed several key topics highlighting the complexities of using artificial intelligence technologies in the legal field. She pointed out that, although these technologies may pose threats to intellectual property rights, they also offer advanced opportunities to protect those rights and monitor their use in the digital sphere.
Her participation was widely praised by attendees for presenting a balanced scientific vision that combined legal and technical analysis, reaffirming the academic standing of the University of Ninevah and its active role in keeping pace with global developments in the fields of law and artificial intelligence.
