On Thursday, July 31, 2025, Professor Dr. Ridwan Hussein Ibrahim, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Ninevah, participated in the proceedings of a master’s thesis defense at the College of Nursing – University of Mosul, serving as a committee member and academic supervisor of the thesis submitted by student Ruba Shakir Ghanem Al-Tai, titled:

“Factors Influencing Perceived Work-Life Balance Among Nurses: A Cross-Sectional Study in Mosul City Hospitals.”

The defense was held in the presence of the Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Mosul, Asst.Prof. Dr. Tahseen Mohsen Hussein, along with several faculty members and students.

This study aligns with the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Quality Education) and aims to identify key factors affecting the work-life balance of nursing staff in Mosul hospitals. The results indicated that work pressure, working hours, and marital status are among the most significant influencing factors. A direct correlation was found between increased working hours and a weakened work-life balance. The study also showed that flexible scheduling and administrative support contribute positively to improving this balance.

At the end of the session, the committee decided to award student Ruba Shakir Ghanem Al-Tai a Master’s degree in Nursing Sciences, after implementing the suggested revisions.
