The President of the University of Ninevah, Professor Dr. Osama Al-Mashhadani, received a delegation from the Council of the A‘laarJia Al-Naqeeb Lineages in Mosul, comprising Dr. Ahmed Dakheel Al-Naqeeb and Mr. Hassanein Al-Naqeeb, on the occasion of donating the second edition of the book entitled Nuqabaa’ Almosul / The Branch of the Forefathers in the House of Ahl al-Abaa’ / Descendants of Ubayd Allah Al-Aaraji, in its five volumes, to the University of Ninevah.
This work is regarded as an important documentary contribution, as its compilation took eighteen years—beginning in 1994 and completed in 2012. The first edition was published in that year, while the second edition appeared in 2025 in commemoration of the efforts of its late author, Mr. Walid Al-Naqeeb. The Council of the Aarajiyya Al-Naqeeb Lineages in Mosul undertook the printing of the second edition.
The President of the University received this cultural gift, expressing his appreciation for the substantial scholarly and documentary effort invested in its preparation. He emphasized the importance of supporting initiatives that contribute to preserving the historical and social memory of the city of Mosul and enhancing its academic and cultural presence, noting that the University of Ninevah always welcomes enriching its library with such authoritative works.
