Assistant Lecturer Dina Riyadh Ibrahim, a faculty member at the College of Electronics Engineering, University of Ninevah, has obtained a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the College of Engineering, University of Mosul, following the defense of her dissertation entitled:
“Designing a Secure Network for Medical Internet of Things Applications and Wireless Body Area Networks,”
on Monday, 9 February 2026.
The dissertation aimed to design and evaluate a secure and intelligent wireless communication network for Medical Internet of Things (IoMT) applications, focusing on achieving an effective balance between security and performance requirements in sensitive medical environments through a comprehensive study of the resilience of communication and routing protocols against various cyber-physical threats.

This study represents an important scientific contribution toward enhancing the reliability of wireless medical networks and improving patient safety, in addition to supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
