On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, the College of Electronics Engineering / Department of Electronic Engineering at the University of Ninevah held a master’s thesis defense by student Sara Ghassan Abdulhameed, titled:
“Wireless Power Transfer Performance Improvement”
The thesis focused on enhancing the efficiency of wireless power transfer (WPT). The study aimed to design and analyze resonant compensation circuits for WPT systems and compare their efficiency under specific conditions. The Genetic Algorithm (GA) was applied to determine the optimal design that maximizes power transfer efficiency for four different compensation topologies.
The study concluded that the series–parallel compensation circuit demonstrated superior performance and higher efficiency in low-power applications, especially at the optimal values of circuit parameters under varying load resistance conditions. Furthermore, the results showed that using the Genetic Algorithm enabled achieving the highest possible efficiency when applying the series–series compensation topology.
The examination committee consisted of:
1. Asst. Prof. Dr. Yasser Mohammed Younis Ameen / University of Mosul / College of Engineering – Chair
2. Asst. Prof. Dr. Harith Ahmed Mohammed / University of Ninevah / College of Electronics Engineering – Member
3. Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed / University of Ninevah / College of Electronics Engineering – Member
4. Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Thanoon Younis / University of Ninevah / College of Electronics Engineering – Member and Supervisor
We extend our sincere congratulations to the researcher and best wishes to the committee members for continued success.
