Dr. Omar Mohammed Al-Obaidi, a faculty member at the University of Ninevah and a staff member of the University Council Secretariat, presented his book entitled “Poetic Discourse in the Works of Bushra Al-Bustani: A Study in the Light of the Semiotics of Passions” to the President of the University of Ninevah, Professor Dr. Osama Al-Mashhadani.
The selection of Bushra Al-Bustani’s poetry as an applied model stems from its distinctive blending of poetic and narrative elements, aligning with the theoretical foundations of the semiotics of passions, and contributing to highlighting the expressive capacity of feminine poetic discourse in representing emotions, feelings, and implicit perceptions.
This presentation reflects the commitment of Ninevah University’s academic staff to enriching academic libraries with specialized critical studies and research, while strengthening the university’s scholarly presence in contemporary humanities studies.
