Upon the invitation of UNESCO, the President of Nineveh University, Prof. Dr. Muzahm Al-Khyatt, participated on Thursday, 21 May 2020, in the electronic meeting held by UNESCO on the Zoom Meeting platform. There were participation of a large number of universities in the Arab countries (Iraq, Egypt, Tunisia, UAE, Palestine, Qatar, Yemen, Jordan). The meeting titled (Arab Universities in light of the Corona pandemic and future prospects), discussed several issues including: –
1- Exchanging successful experiences and challenges about adopting exams and quality system.
2- Plan for referring to the future study.
4- Virtual Education Legislation.
5-Discussing the proposal of the UNESCO office on strengthening university capabilities at the level of virtual education and measuring its quality, in partnership with the International Center for Higher Education Innovation of UNESCO.
Through the discussion, Prof. Dr. Muzahm Al-Khyatt reviewed the great challenges and difficulties that our university faced in e-learning, finding solutions to these problems and how they were addressed in order to perpetuate the education process and ensure that the academic year is not lost on our students.
The meeting came out with several recommendations, including: the necessity of continuing with e-learning, developing solutions to challenges and problems, and setting future plans for how to complete the academic year in the event of the return of official working hours, exchange of experiences in the electronic calendar, laboratory platform, clinical medical training, and digitization of exams.
