Participation of a Faculty Member from the University of Ninevah in a Master’s Thesis Defense Committee at the College of Basic Education, University of Mosul

Dr. Khalid Ibrahim Mohammed, Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs at the College of Nursing, University of Ninevah, participated in the defense committee of a master’s thesis at the College of Basic Education, University of Mosul. The thesis was entitled “Investigating EFL Teachers’ Use of Oral Corrective Feedback and Students’ Perceptions at the University Level,” and the defense took place on Sunday, November 30, 2025, in the Um Al-Rabieen Hall at the college.

The thesis, submitted by the student Rozan Ibrahim Salman from the Department of English, aimed to investigate English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers’ use of oral corrective feedback as well as students’ perceptions of it at the university level.

The study addressed several themes, including: the concept of corrective feedback, the importance of using it in the classroom, and students’ reactions to this strategy.

The study reached several findings, including that university EFL teachers employ a variety of strategies with varying frequencies depending on the types of students’ errors, and that students commit different kinds of errors, each eliciting different corresponding responses.
