On Saturday, September 20, 2025, the President of the University of Ninevah, Professor Dr. Osama Al-Mashhadani, inaugurated the solo art exhibition of renowned visual artist Dr. Ahmed Dakhil Al-Naqeeb, titled “A Tale of Color, Poetry, and Heritage.” The event was held under the patronage of the Al-Khaimah Foundation for Development and Peacebuilding, with the presence of the Foundation’s President, Father Raed Adel, along with a gathering of artists, academics, and individuals interested in cultural and artistic affairs.
The exhibition featured a distinguished collection of artworks that skillfully combined color expression, poetic depth, and heritage identity—forming a comprehensive artistic vision that reflects the richness of local culture through visual art.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, a book signing event was held for Dr. Al-Naqeeb’s new publication titled “Interpreting Poetic Texts Visually: Through Color and Heritage.” The event also included a panel discussion on the exhibition and the book’s themes, presented by Mr. Muwafaq Al-Taie, with participation from historian and distinguished professor Dr. Najman Yassin, who spoke about the interplay between visual art, history, and heritage in the artist’s work.
The university president praised this cultural initiative, emphasizing the importance of supporting artistic and creative movements in the city of Mosul, as they play a vital role in promoting cultural identity and building bridges of peace.
