In accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and with the participation of all presidents of Iraqi public universities,
Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Mashhadani, President of the University of Ninevah, took part on Monday, July 14, 2025, in the Senior Leadership Development Program for Presidents of Public Universities 2025, held under the slogan: “Productive and Impactful Iraqi Universities Leading the Future… Achieving Sustainable Development.”
The program is organized by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers / The Higher Institute for Leadership Development and Training, and runs from July 14 to July 17, 2025.
The first day of the program featured two lectures. The first was delivered by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, entitled “Higher Education: From Diagnosis to Foresight.”
The second lecture was presented by the Deputy Minister for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahad, under the title “The Strategy of Scientific Research in Iraqi Universities and Its Impact on Global Rankings.”
The day concluded with a general discussion, during which ideas and proposals were exchanged.
The program aims to enhance the strategic vision of university leaders, develop their capabilities in alignment with digital transformation, keep pace with the rapid global changes in higher education, adopt the concepts of productive universities and the fourth and fifth-generation university models, improve institutional performance, establish international partnerships, and advance in achieving sustainability, accreditation, and international rankings.
