Scientific Workshop in the Department of Biomedical Engineering on Prosthetics and Orthotic Devices

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Electronics Engineering, University of Ninevah, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a scientific workshop entitled “The World of Prosthetics, Orthotic Devices, and Body Deformities.” The workshop was held in Al-Khwarizmi Hall at the college, with the attendance of faculty members and students of the department.

The workshop was organized as part of the college’s efforts to strengthen the practical aspects of students’ education and to keep pace with scientific and technological developments in the field of biomedical engineering. It aimed to introduce the latest methods adopted in the design and manufacturing of prosthetic limbs and orthotic devices, as well as their role in treating body deformities and improving patients’ quality of life.

The workshop included specialized scientific lectures delivered by Engineer Ayoub Qasim Mohammed from Bionic Al-Warith Center for Prosthetics, who presented practical experiences and modern technologies used in this field. He also showcased applied models and real-life case studies that enriched the scientific discussions with students.

The workshop targeted undergraduate students in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, aiming to develop their scientific and practical skills and to strengthen the connection between academic learning outcomes and the needs of the labor market and the healthcare sector.
