In accordance with the directives of the President of the University of Ninevah, Prof. Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, and under the direct supervision and attendance of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Khalid Khalil Mohammed, the College of Electronics Engineering at the University of Ninevah organized a scientific and awareness seminar entitled:
“The Role of Security Agencies and Academics in Combating Drugs”
The seminar was held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in Al-Khwarizmi Hall at the College.
A number of officers from the Iraqi National Security Service / University and Institutes Security Center in Ninevah delivered the seminar, addressing important topics focused on:
• The role of security agencies in combating drug trafficking and abuse.
• Mechanisms of coordination between security institutions and universities to protect the educational environment.
• Recruitment methods targeting youth and ways to prevent them.
• The responsibility of academic institutions in spreading awareness and promoting societal values.
The seminar witnessed a wide attendance from the teaching and administrative staff, as well as students of the College. It also featured a fruitful interactive discussion between attendees and lecturers, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation between security agencies and educational institutions to protect society from the dangers of drugs.
This seminar comes as part of a series of awareness activities organized by the College of Electronics Engineering at the University of Ninevah, within its commitment to building a safe university environment and promoting a culture of awareness and social responsibility.
