The College of Information Technology at the University of Ninevah Organizes a Training Workshop on Software Development Models

As part of the activities of the Science and Technology Parks Department – Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Division, and in implementation of the division’s annual plan, the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Unit at the College of Information Technology / University of Ninevah organized a training workshop on Tuesday (31/3/2026) entitled:
“Software Development Models.”

The workshop was delivered by Dr. Maysar Dalli Hamad and targeted college students. It introduced the concept of software development and its importance in keeping pace with rapid technological advancements, in addition to enhancing students’ practical skills in building smart applications.

The workshop included a systematic presentation of software development models, focusing on the importance of prior planning and establishing predictable timelines. This approach helps reduce the risks associated with application development, ensures meeting user requirements, and achieves a balance between cost and quality. It also addressed mechanisms for risk assessment and management within the software development life cycle.

The workshop emphasized the vital role of software development in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and modern practical applications. It also encouraged students to initiate applied projects that contribute to supplying the labor market with qualified competencies capable of meeting its evolving demands.
