The College of Law Organizes an Awareness Workshop on the Dangers of Drugs

Based on the directives of the University President, Prof. Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, and with the direct support of the Dean of the College of Law, Prof. Dr. Zina Ghanem Al-Obaidi, the Continuous Education Unit at the College of Law held an awareness workshop on Monday, November 18, 2024, titled:
“The Dangers of Drugs on Society and Ways to Eliminate Them.”

The workshop featured lectures delivered by:
1. Asst. Prof. Dr. Nadia Ahmed Mohammed
2. Asst. Prof. Dr. Zaid Luqman Ismail
3. Asst. Lecturer Sahar Anwar Mohammed

The lecturers provided a detailed explanation of the harmful effects of drugs, emphasizing their negative impact on society, particularly targeting students. They also highlighted the short- and long-term health effects of various types of drugs to increase cultural awareness among students and educate them on prevention methods.

Additionally, the workshop clarified the legal framework concerning drug-related issues, aiming to contribute to safeguarding the health and safety of community members. It emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the detrimental consequences of drugs as a fundamental role and national duty.
