Under the patronage of the President of the University of Ninevah, Prof. Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Assistant Prof. Dr. Moamen Junaid Al-Duboni,
the College of Medicine at the University of Ninevah, in collaboration with the Nineveh Health Directorate – Forensic Medicine Department, organized a scientific symposium titled “Biological Applications in Forensic Medicine.”
The symposium addressed various aspects of forensic medicine, including how to handle samples and how basic biological sciences can be utilized to assist in forensic investigations. Several lectures were delivered, followed by an open discussion to explore the latest advancements in the field.
The symposium was attended by Dr. Mohammed Suleiman Al-Houri, the Chairman of the Nineveh Medical Association, and Dr. Walid Mohammed Al-Sabe, a representative of the Director General of the Nineveh Health Directorate.
The symposium concluded with a series of recommendations, the most important being the need to harness basic biological sciences to assist in the accurate identification of samples in forensic medicine centers. Participants expressed their wishes for continued success and service to the country from the College of Medicine.
