The College of Pharmacy at the University of Ninevah and Its Counterpart at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Malaysia Establish International Academic Collaboration to Enhance Research and Exchange Expertise

In accordance with the directives of the President of the University of Ninevah, Prof. Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, and based on the memorandum of mutual cooperation, and as part of the College of Pharmacy’s ongoing efforts to foster openness, collaboration, and knowledge exchange with international universities—

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Ninevah held a virtual meeting on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, between its College Council and the Council of the College of Pharmacy at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Malaysia.
This meeting aimed to activate the scientific cooperation agreement previously signed between the two institutions and to explore new opportunities for joint academic engagement.

The meeting addressed several key areas, including:
1. Research Collaboration:
Both parties agreed to align efforts in high-priority research areas such as:
• Developing innovative strategies to combat drug abuse.
• Exploring research into biodegradable materials.
• Exchanging lists of workshops, training programs, and conferences to promote mutual participation.
• Exploring the possibility of faculty exchange and collaboration in scientific publishing, particularly through the International Journal of Pharmaceutical and Clinical Sciences (IJPNaCS).
2. Student Exchange:
The College of Pharmacy at the University of Ninevah expressed its readiness to offer full and partial scholarships for student exchange programs. UiTM will be provided with the necessary links to facilitate access to these opportunities.
3. Postgraduate Programs:
UiTM welcomed the idea of hosting postgraduate students from the University of Ninevah in its advanced laboratories and research centers for short-term research projects, following the Indonesian model.
Both sides encouraged the concept of joint supervision of postgraduate theses and agreed to exchange lists of available supervisors.
They also discussed cooperation in appointing external examiners for thesis evaluations and sharing ongoing research project lists to identify future areas of collaboration.

This initiative represents a significant and qualitative step toward strengthening international academic partnerships between the University of Ninevah and UiTM.
It promises to open broad horizons for enriching the research and educational environments in both institutions, ultimately benefiting the academic and scientific communities in both countries.
