The University of Ninevah Signs a Scientific Cooperation Agreement with UGM University in Indonesia

Continuing its journey of international engagement and academic collaboration with global universities, the University of Ninevah, represented by its president, Prof. Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, signed a scientific cooperation agreement with UGM University in Indonesia on Friday, November 29, 2024, at UGM University’s headquarters.

The signing ceremony was preceded by official academic visits by the University of Ninevah delegation to several UGM University faculties, including the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Engineering. These visits involved meetings with senior staff members, exploring scientific laboratories, academic systems, and research projects within these faculties.

This agreement reflects the University of Ninevah’s commitment to establishing academic partnerships with reputable global universities, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The meeting addressed mechanisms for implementing the agreement’s provisions, which include:
1. Cooperation in academic and research fields.
2. Exchange of students and faculty members.
3. Organization of joint conferences and workshops.
4. Development of research projects of mutual interest.

In his speech during the event, Prof. Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani emphasized the importance of international academic cooperation as a cornerstone for achieving the university’s vision of academic and research excellence. He stated that this agreement represents a strategic step toward building sustainable relationships with global universities.

The agreement aims to open new horizons for cooperation between the two universities, enhancing the efficiency of academic programs and advancing the research environment in line with national goals for developing Iraq’s higher education sector.

The signing ceremony concluded with the exchange of commemorative shields and group photos between the two sides.
