University of Ninevah Celebrates the International Volunteer Day with a Distinguished Event Organized by the Department of Student Activities

Under the patronage and presence of the President of the University of Ninevah, Professor Dr. Osama Al-Mashhadani, and the supervision of the University’s Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Associate Professor Dr. Ammar Saadoun Hamid, the Department of Student Activities organized, on the morning of Thursday, 4 December 2025, an event to celebrate the International Volunteer Day. The event was held in Dr. Khalil Al-Sayyid Mar’i Hall – College of Information Technology, with wide participation from university staff, a number of personalities, and guests.

The event began with a speech by the University President, who stressed that volunteer work represents a noble human, social, and religious value that embodies the spirit of initiative and responsibility. He emphasized its role in strengthening social cohesion, developing youth skills, and shaping the character of the university student.

Associate Professor Dr. Ammar Saadoun Hamid, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, also delivered a speech highlighting the importance of the university’s support and sponsorship of all volunteer initiatives, given their direct impact on serving the community and promoting the culture of giving.

The event also witnessed the participation of Mr. Hikem Al-Dulaimi, President of the Al-Anqa Foundation, who praised the role of the University of Ninevah in encouraging volunteer work and embracing active youth talents.

The ceremony included several speeches delivered by faculty members, in addition to a brief presentation showcasing the most notable volunteer activities carried out by the university’s students and staff during the current year.

At the conclusion of the event, the University President distributed certificates of appreciation and shields to the participants and contributors who supported this initiative, in recognition of their efforts and commitment to the spirit of teamwork.

The University of Ninevah affirms that promoting the values of community service and volunteer work will remain one of the pillars of its vision for serving the community and advancing university performance.
