The University of Ninevah, represented by Dr. Tamara Riyadh, Director of the Student Activities Department, participated in the international scientific developmental course for directors of student activity departments. The event was hosted by the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia in the capital city of Moscow, from July 26 to August 2, 2025, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and with direct supervision from the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority – Student Activities Department.

The University of Ninevah joined a delegation of 45 participants from 38 Iraqi public and private universities, in a step that reflects the Ministry’s commitment to developing extracurricular activities and its dedication to creating an integrated university environment that aligns with global standards in student care.

The course featured a series of advanced scientific lectures and specialized workshops in the fields of sports management, student leadership, and organizational skills development. It also included dialogue sessions and discussion groups with the participation of Russian experts, aiming to exchange experiences and best practices in the field of student activities.

The program included field visits to Olympic sports facilities and cultural training centers, with the participation of official figures from both Iraqi and Russian sides, including parliamentarians, Olympic athletes, media figures, and sports officials. This offered participants a close-up view of world-class infrastructure supporting student activities.

The University of Ninevah’s participation in this international forum reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to developing its student activities system and integrating extracurricular dimensions into the student academic experience—enhancing leadership, belonging, and excellence within the university community.

The international course concluded with a ceremony honoring the participants and awarding them certificates of appreciation, in the presence of the Iraqi ministerial delegation—reflecting official recognition of the active contributions made by the University of Nineveh and other Iraqi universities in the journey toward comprehensive academic development.
