University of Ninevah Signs a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ministry of Migration and Displacement in the Presence of Her Excellency the Minister

As part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between academic institutions and government ministries in serving various segments of society, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed today, Tuesday, October 14, 2025, between the University of Ninevah and the Ministry of Migration and Displacement, in the presence of Her Excellency Minister Vian Faeq Jabro, President of the University of Ninevah Prof. Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, members of the University Council, and a delegation from the Ministry.

This memorandum aims to enhance joint cooperation in research and studies related to displaced persons and returnees, as well as in scientific expertise exchange, training programs, and joint workshops. The agreement seeks to support the ministry’s humanitarian and developmental plans and to involve university students in field projects dedicated to serving the community.

During the signing ceremony, Minister Vian Faeq Jabro praised the University of Ninevah for its active role in supporting social and humanitarian causes, particularly in rehabilitating displaced families and integrating them into society. She emphasized that this step aligns with the ministry’s vision of leveraging academic expertise to address issues of displacement and migration and to develop sustainable solutions.

For his part, University President Prof. Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani expressed his pride in this fruitful partnership, noting that the university possesses strong research and academic capacities capable of offering studies and scientific initiatives that contribute to developing the ministry’s programs and supporting the displaced and returnee communities.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the University President presented the Shield of the University of Ninevah to Her Excellency the Minister as a gesture of appreciation and mutual cooperation. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to developing a joint implementation plan to follow up on the memorandum’s provisions and translate them into practical programs on the ground.
