Professor Dr. Khalil Sayyid Marey chaired a doctoral thesis defense committee at the University of Mosul

as part of the contributions of Ninawa University lecturers to the scientific activities of other universities.

On Thursday, April 25, 2024, Professor Dr. Khalil Sayyid Marey chaired the defense of a doctoral thesis at the College of Engineering, University of Mosul, entitled “Investigation of Electromagnetic Radiation Reduction Techniques for Future Wireless Communication Systems,” submitted by doctoral student Huda Aqeel Ahmed Al-Tayyar. The thesis aimed to study techniques for reducing Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of electromagnetic radiation from antennas in fifth-generation (G5) communication uses.

The thesis discussed the design of the microstrip antenna to achieve the required performance with a specific and acceptable SAR rate, as well as investigated several techniques contributing to effectively reducing SAR. The results showed that leveraging the unusual properties of metamaterials through various methods led to a high reduction in human body radiation exposure.

The defense committee comprised:

1- Professor Dr. Marey, Ninawa University.
2- Assistant Professor Dr. Ibrahim Khalil Saleh, University of Tikrit.
3- Assistant Professor Dr. Saad Ahmed Ayoub, College of Engineering, University of Mosul.
4- Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Tareq Yassin, College of Engineering, University of Mosul.
5- Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Younis Dhanoon, College of Engineering, University of Mosul.
6- Assistant Professor Dr. Yassar Aziz Mohammed Ali, Nawroz University, as a supervisory member.

Best wishes to Dr. Huda Al-Tayyar for success and prosperity.
