Researcher Mohammed Ramzi Ahmed, a staff member of the Ministry of Education / Nineveh Education Directorate, defended his master’s thesis at the College of Electronics Engineering, University of Nineveh, on Thursday, August 20, 2026. The thesis was entitled:
“Intelligent Control of DC-DC Converters Using Artificial Intelligence-Based Algorithms to Enhance Performance and Adaptability.”
The thesis aimed to design and implement an intelligent control system for DC-DC converters using artificial intelligence algorithms to improve dynamic performance and adaptability under various operating conditions. The system utilized an ESP32 microcontroller, with its performance compared against conventional predictive and PID controllers.
The results demonstrated the superiority of the proposed controller in improving transient response, reducing settling time and overshoot, while maintaining accurate output voltage regulation. These findings enhance the potential for its application in modern power electronics systems.
The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Qais Thunoon Najm as Chair; Asst. Prof. Dr. Yasser Mohammed Younis Amin and Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Jalil Ibrahim as Members; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Harith Ahmed Mohammed and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sahar Lazim Qadouri as Members and Supervisors.
