Distinguished Scientific Achievement by a Faculty Member at the College of Electronics Engineering, University of Ninevah

The Presidency of the University of Ninevah extends its warmest congratulations to Assistant Lecturer Saadi Ismail Al-Saadoun of the Department of Systems and Control Engineering at the College of Electronics Engineering on the publication of his research paper entitled:

“Robust PMDC Motor Speed Control Using Mixed-Sensitivity H∞ and Adaptive Disturbance Estimation”

The research was co-authored with Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Obaid Mustafa of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Mosul, reflecting the spirit of research collaboration between the two universities.

The paper was published on 21 October 2026 in the International Journal of Dynamics and Control, published by the internationally renowned Springer Nature. According to the 2025 Journal Citation Reports (JCR), the journal is ranked in the first quartile (Q1) in the field of Applied Mathematics.

The study presents an advanced robust speed-control strategy for permanent-magnet direct-current (PMDC) motors, employing advanced control techniques and adaptive disturbance estimation. The proposed approach aims to improve the system’s dynamic response, enhance stability, and ensure robust performance in the presence of disturbances and uncertainty in system parameters.

This achievement highlights the importance of scientific collaboration among Iraqi universities and its role in supporting research excellence and strengthening the presence of Iraqi researchers in reputable international scientific journals.

The University of Ninevah wishes the researchers continued success and further scientific achievements that contribute to advancing academic excellence.
