Medical Student at the University of Ninevah Identifies a Scientific Error in a Globally Recognized Surgical Textbook

Mustafa Salem, a sixth-year medical student at the College of Medicine, University of Ninevah, identified a scientific issue concerning the classification of the parts of the duodenum in a widely recognized surgical reference.

Following his communication with the international publisher Taylor & Francis, the book’s author reviewed the observation and confirmed its validity. The publisher further indicated that the correction would be incorporated into future editions of the book.

This initiative highlights the importance of critical reading and scientific accuracy and demonstrates that medical students can play an active role in contributing to and refining scientific knowledge.
