The President of the University of Ninevah, Prof. Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, attended the discussion session of the master’s thesis submitted by Istabraq Taha Hamad Naseef Al-Bayati, a staff member of the College of Nursing at the University of Ninevah. The discussion was held at the College of Nursing, University of Mosul, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Her thesis was entitled:
“The Effectiveness of the International Pediatric Early Warning System Program on the Cognitive Performance of Nurses in Pediatric Wards.”
The discussion session was attended by Prof. Dr. Ridwan Hussein Ibrahim, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Ninevah, along with a number of the college’s faculty members, in support of the researcher and as part of their commitment to following up on her academic and scientific progress.
The thesis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the International Pediatric Early Warning System program in developing and enhancing the cognitive performance of nurses working in pediatric wards, thereby contributing to improving the quality of nursing care provided to children and enhancing nursing staff’s ability to detect early changes in children’s health conditions and respond to them appropriately.
The discussion committee consisted of:
- Prof. Dr. Nasr Muwaffaq Younis – Chair / College of Nursing, University of Mosul.
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Rayan Ibrahim Khalil – Member / College of Nursing, University of Mosul.
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Saad Gabriel Sulaiman – Member / College of Nursing, University of Duhok.
- Lect. Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Sultan – Member and Supervisor / College of Nursing, University of Mosul.
The discussion session featured an extensive academic dialogue addressing the thesis topic, objectives, methodology, and findings, as well as the key conclusions and recommendations reached by the researcher.
Following the incorporation of the scientific amendments and comments raised by the discussion committee, the thesis was accepted, and the researcher fulfilled the requirements for obtaining a Master’s degree in Nursing.
