Conducted in the Department of Electronic Engineering at the College of Electronics Engineering, the study, presented by student Aya Saud Aboud, focuses on improving the accuracy of estimating the angle of arrival for received signals through an antenna array with equal spacing, utilizing the modern Root Eigenvector method.
The thesis aims to compare two methods, namely the Fast Fourier Transform and the Root-Eigenvector method, highlighting the latter’s high precision in finding angles with minimal error compared to previous approaches. Various studies were conducted, considering different variables such as antenna spacing, the number of antennas used, and angular differences.
The results demonstrate the modern method’s accuracy in angle detection, error rate calculation, and distinguishing signals with very small angular differences and a limited number of antennas. The examination committee consisted of:
