The President of the University of Ninevah, Professor Dr. Osama Al-Mashhadani, attended part of the PhD dissertation defense of Dr. Ma’an Shahatha, a faculty member at the College of Electronics Engineering. He extended his congratulations on this outstanding academic achievement, which represents an important milestone in the University’s research journey.
The University President praised the distinguished scientific quality of the dissertation, which is the first in the field of Biomedical Engineering among the Colleges of Engineering at both the University of Ninevah and the University of Mosul. He commended the efforts devoted to its completion and the remarkable research outcomes it has achieved.
The dissertation focused on developing innovative methods for blood glucose measurement and skin cancer detection using biomedical engineering techniques. The research resulted in the publication of two scientific papers in prestigious Q1-ranked international journals, in addition to the acceptance of five other papers in international journals and scientific conferences, reflecting the high quality and scientific significance of the research.
The University President affirmed that the University of Ninevah remains committed to supporting high-quality scientific research and encouraging studies that keep pace with global advancements and contribute to developing scientific solutions that serve society. He wished Dr. Ma’an Shahatha continued success and extended his best wishes to the College of Electronics Engineering for further achievements and excellence.
