On the morning of Monday, August 31, 2026, Prof. Dr. Khalid Khalil Mohammed, Dean of the College of Electronics Engineering at the University of Ninevah, chaired the PhD dissertation defense committee for researcher Mahmoud Sameer Saadoun Al-Qazzaz at the University of Mosul. The dissertation was entitled:
“Design and Performance Evaluation of Non-Terrestrial Networks Based on Artificial Intelligence”
The defense committee consisted of:

The dissertation focused on the design and performance evaluation of Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTNs) and investigated the use of artificial intelligence techniques to improve the efficiency and performance of these networks. The research contributes to the development of modern communication solutions and supports keeping pace with the rapid advancements in communication technologies and intelligent networks.
The defense included a comprehensive presentation and analysis of the dissertation’s contents and findings, followed by an extensive academic discussion by the committee members, during which the scientific and methodological aspects of the research were evaluated.
At the conclusion of the defense, following deliberations on the dissertation’s contents, the committee reached its decision in accordance with the approved academic and scientific regulations and standards.
