According to the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Na’im Al-Abboudi.
Dr. Osama Al-Mushhadani, the President of Nineveh University, accompanied by Assistant Professor Jafar Ramadan Mohammed, the scientific assistant, and Dean of the College of Nursing Dr. Radwan Hussein Ibrahim, along with a group of university professors, visited the University of Alkitab on Sunday, April 21, 2024. They were welcomed by the university president, Dr. Ayad Barzanji, and a group of university professors.
Mr. Al-Mushhadani represented the university president during his visit to the launch ceremony of the first edition of the “Encyclopedia of the University Woman,” which was launched by the University of Alkitab.
The ceremony began with a welcome speech by Barzanji, welcoming the representative of the minister and the accompanying delegation, and announcing the launch of the first edition of the encyclopedia. This was followed by a speech from the Minister, delivered by Mr. Al-Mushhadani, conveying the Minister’s greetings and blessings on the occasion of the launch of the first annual edition of the “Encyclopedia of the University Woman,” expressing the ministry’s support and interest in commemorating the efforts and activities of Iraqi women in academia and society, noting that women today have activities and achievements equal to those of men in various fields of life and its requirements. It is hoped that the team behind this encyclopedia will continue their annual publications to document the successes of Iraqi women, especially in the field of education and various disciplines.
The ceremony included the honoring of thirteen female professors from Iraqi universities in various disciplines, who were included in the encyclopedia based on specific criteria and indicators related to scientific research, authorship, patents, awards, scientific supervision, and community service. The competition criteria were set by a committee from several Iraqi universities, chaired by the Dean of the College of Business Economics at the University of Al-Nahrain, Dr. Nagham Hussein Al-Naama.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the university shield to the Minister and the university president. Mr. Al-Mushhadani also presented a shield from Nineveh University and a bouquet to Barzanji, congratulating them on this achievement and thanking them for their hospitality and warm reception, and wishing the University of Alkitab continued success in serving the educational process in our beloved country.
