University of Ninevah Holds an Introductory Workshop on the British Chevening Scholarship to Enhance International Scholarship Opportunities

As part of the University of Ninevah’s efforts to strengthen its international academic presence and expand opportunities for its staff, students, and graduates to access global scholarships and international study programs, the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations, under the direction of the President of the University of Ninevah, Prof. Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, organized an introductory workshop on the British Chevening Scholarship.

The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Laith Rabeh Mohammed, Director of the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations, in the presence and under the supervision of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Jaafar Ramadan Mohammed, along with the heads of Cultural Relations Units in the university’s colleges.

The workshop provided an introduction to the Chevening Scholarship and highlighted its significance as one of the leading international scholarship programs. It also addressed the application timeline, eligibility criteria and requirements, application procedures, and the academic and professional opportunities offered by the scholarship to those seeking to pursue postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom.

This workshop reflects the University’s commitment to promoting a culture of international scholarships and academic mobility across its academic institutions, raising awareness of global educational opportunities, and supporting the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It also aligns with the University of Nineveh’s vision of internationalization, academic openness, and the development of partnerships with international educational institutions.

The workshop also represents a first step toward organizing similar introductory workshops across the university’s colleges, to be delivered by the heads of Cultural Relations Units. This initiative aims to disseminate information about the scholarship to a wider audience of staff, students, and graduates, while strengthening the role of these units in supporting international scholarship and academic mobility pathways.
