University of Ninevah Staff Member Defends Master’s Thesis on 5G Power Amplifiers

On Sunday, August 30, 2026, Mohammed Muwaffaq Hadi, a staff member at the University of Ninevah/College of Electronics Engineering, defended his master’s thesis entitled:

“Design and Optimization of a High-Efficiency Class-J Power Amplifier for 5G Wireless Communication”

The thesis focused on designing a high-efficiency power amplifier operating at 3.5 GHz for fifth-generation (5G) wireless communication applications. It employed artificial intelligence techniques and load-pull data to optimize impedance and matching networks.

The research results demonstrated a power-added efficiency (PAE) of 66.2%, a drain efficiency of 75.8%, and an output power of 41.6 dBm.

The discussion committee consisted of:

  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Harith Ahmed Mohammed — Chair
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Shamil Hamza Hussein — Member
  • Lect. Dr. Imad Atiya Khalaf — Member
  • Prof. Dr. Khalid Khalil Mohammed — Member and Supervisor

Congratulations to the researcher, with our best wishes for continued success and achievement.
