University of Ninevah Team Secures Fifth Place Among 139 Teams in the Medical Track of NURAI 2026

The University of Ninevah has achieved a new scientific accomplishment in the fields of medical robotics and artificial intelligence, with the ATSA Team from the College of Electronics Engineering, Department of Biomedical Engineering, securing fifth place in the Medical Track in the final results of the National University Championship for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Applications (NURAI 2026), competing among 139 participating teams.

The achievement was earned through the team’s project entitled:

“Augmented Teleoperation Surgical Arm (ATSA)”

The project specializes in AI-assisted surgical robotics, demonstrating the application of advanced technologies to develop innovative medical solutions.

The team consisted of students Taiba Saddam Mohammed, Najlaa Fathi Abdullah, Yousef Mazen Maysar, and Abdulrahman Shamil Younis, under the supervision of Lect. Dina Numeir Abduljabbar.

This achievement is the result of the team’s scientific and practical efforts and reflects the advanced level achieved by University of Ninevah students in the fields of technological innovation, medical robotics, and artificial intelligence. It also highlights the university’s commitment to supporting high-quality student projects and encouraging active participation in national scientific events.

On this occasion, the Presidency of the University of Ninevah extends its highest congratulations and best wishes to the ATSA Team and its supervisor, as well as to the Deanship of the College of Electronics Engineering and the Department of Biomedical Engineering, in recognition of this scientific achievement.
